Our hustings were held this Wednesday, 22nd of April 2015, with the parliamentary candidates of four of the parties who are fielding for the General Election 2015. Present were Lynne Featherstone (LibDem), Clive Morrison (UKIP), Gordon Peters (Greens) and Catherine West (Labour).

The session was moderated by Ryan King, co-chair of Parkside Malvern Residents Association.

It turned out to be a spirited discussion which was, at times, passionate, but gave us a good impression of the contestants in this constituency.

Here is our Storify account of the event:

The original announcement of the event is below:

Your chance to meet and question the candidates from the main parties who want your vote! All welcome

8 pm, Wednesday, 22nd April, 2015, Grace Baptist Church Hall, Park Ridings, N8

************************************************************************************************

Come and meet the prospective parliamentary constituency candidates from the main parties, as we invite them to tell us about themselves, their priorities and how they will work with us to improve our area.

It's really important we use our votes to choose the best candidate to represent us. Every vote matters. Visit our web site www.PMRA.co.uk to send your questions in advance or bring them to the meeting.

Light refreshments provided

The meeting is FREE and open to all in our community.

PMRA has been holding election hustings since 2004, events that have always been supported by the main parties and enjoyed by those who have come. Do join us if you can.

We receive no funding other than what we raise from donation so we will have a bucket for small donations towards the cost of organising the event.

  1. Sorry Q 2 should have a bit in brackets added........

2). What will you do to ensure Haringey's vibrant and thriving voluntary sector (despite uncertainty and looming cuts) is supported to survive and grow!

  2. Apologies I can't be there. Questions if you want them.

1). What will be done to balance the need for social housing (not just affordable) and not overcrowding those (usually poorer) parts of the Borough. For example, recent developments in Crouch End = 3 or 4 stories vs Heartlands proposal.
