If you have a lot of stuff at home that is functional but no longer required, or is cluttering up your house, get on down to our 'Bring & Take' event on Saturday the 5th of November.
We even check that the electrical items are safe to pass them on!
You can bring household goods, tools, toys, small items of furniture, computers, working electrical items, sports equipment , anything really as long as it is not too large or heavy to carry and still usable. Unfortunately we can not take clothes either.
Bring: Simply bring us your items on Saturday between 11am and 1pm to Grace Baptist Church Hall in Park Ridings (behind the Church via side entrance). Our qualified PAT tester will check all electrical goods.
Take: Between 2pm and 4pm you can come and visit us to see if you find anything useful that is surplus to someone else. All items will be free. Just pick anything that catches your eye. Refreshments will be available too, and you can use the opportunity to get to know and chat with your neighbours and catch up with the latest developments in your neighbourhood.
Life on Hornsey Park Road has been plagued with problems including noise, pollution and crumbling pavements, on top of this there appears to be a lack of strategic vision for the future. Council Leader Peray Ahmet and a few of her fellow councillors came to discuss the issues with our representatives.
Eight of us got out before the rain last Saturday. We cut back a lot of growth at the Lavender Garden ready for winter. Most of what we cleared has now gone down for composting. By John Miles
