It's party time! Christmas Quiz, 10th December

Join us for the big 2016 Christmas quiz and tombola

Join us for the big 2016 Christmas quiz and tombola

Every end of the year, there is a big event, that gets pulses racing, makes eyes light up with joy and has grown men and women quivering with anticipation.

Food is prepared, tables are laid, gifts are assembled, walls and ceilings are decked out in splendour... Yes, I am talking about the Christmas Quiz Night and Social organised by the Noel Park and Parkside Malvern residents organisations!

It has been a established tradition now for many years, for the community to gather and enjoy a great evening at the beginning of December. Local residents prepare and decorate, a licensed bar is set up, and everybody brings food and items for the tombola.

If you would like to help decorate, you can start joining us between 2pm and 4pm on the day, you can donate your own decorations, but plenty will be provided for any eager volunteer.

This is joyful event for all the family, kids and parents, young and old gather in peaceful unity–but make no mistake, when the quiz starts, all allegiances are strictly for the team and the combative spirit takes over. Our experienced quizmasters will make your cranial muscles bulge and synaptic connections pop, but don't fear, questions will be on a wide range of topics, and everybody will be able to contribute (Hint: a bit of local knowledge is often helpful).

Everybody is invited to bring some food to share, if you would like to prepare a dish please pop in early so we can add it to the other contributions before the event gets going. Sausage rolls and other snacks that come from the supermarket are ok too.

While we talk about the food, the quiz, the tombola, (did I mention the licensed bar?) it might be good to mention that this is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbours and locals from Noel Park and Hornsey Park. It's a lovely, friendly gathering which makes it easy to chat to new people and make friends. Everybody is welcome, so do yourself a favour and join us on the 10th for some seasonal festivity.

Date: 10th of December

Time: 7.30pm (2pm - 4pm decorating the hall)

Location: Asian Community Centre, Caxton Road, N22
