Bid success marks 3rd year of Community Garden project

The Haringey Council Area Forum www.haringey.gov.uk/areacommittees has awarded PMRA a 'Making the Difference' grant to help in the next stage of environmental project to improve our area.

Building on the success of the first two years of the project, we will be working with pupils and staff of the Heartlands High School to create a mosaic for an area of the 'community garden', as well as providing additional planters and flowers. A key aim of the project is to reach out to our neighbours, particularly housing associations and local businesses, with whom, by working together we can achieve so much more with.

Let us know if you have any thoughts on what the project should be doing next and join us at our monthly 'Community Gardening' mornings. See the Events tab for dates - we usually meet on the first Saturday of each month.

The loss of trees is becoming an issue locally. The wonderful false acacia at the junction of Mayes Road and Coburg Road was removed because it ‘had a fungus’ - just in time for the planning application to build on the petrol station site beside it.
