A seven-mile walk with option of starting or finishing at the half way point.
Starting at the river’s source in Queen’s Wood, Highgate, the walk will go through Crouch End Open Spaces and Priory Park on to New River Village and Wood Green. After passing the Noel Park Estate we reach Lordship Recreation Ground, the half-way point of the walk where we stop for lunch at Broadwater Farm Community Centre. The second half of the walk will go through Tottenham Cemetery, along Tottenham High Road and end up at Markfield Park.
10.30am Meet at the Lodge Café in Queen’s Wood, N10 3JP (43 and 134 buses)
1-2pm Lunch break at Harmony Gardens, Broadwater Farm Community Centre (bring packed lunch)
About 3.30pm ending at Pistachio’s café, Markfield Park. The Beam Engine Museum will be open.

Life on Hornsey Park Road has been plagued with problems including noise, pollution and crumbling pavements, on top of this there appears to be a lack of strategic vision for the future. Council Leader Peray Ahmet and a few of her fellow councillors came to discuss the issues with our representatives.
Eight of us got out before the rain last Saturday. We cut back a lot of growth at the Lavender Garden ready for winter. Most of what we cleared has now gone down for composting. By John Miles
